Ooo very awesome, you must have been quite persistent to get such a cool shot! (my camera would never be able to get a shot like that since it has to focus on something for a sec before taking a picture >_<;)

Yeah some cameras are like that. Do you have a manual setting at all? When on Automatic the camera I used has to focus, but when on manual I can focus it myself and it will take a pic no mater what. :)

Lightning strikes are hard to get, unless you spend a lot of time and take a lot of exposures. It's a little easier if you do bursts of exposures with digital, but it still requires some real effort.
If you lucked into this, kudos. And if you worked hard to get it, kudos again for an effort well spent.

Thanks! ^_^ I was standing outside for a while taking as many pics of the sky as I could. This is the one that turned out the best. I wasn't quite sure how to change my exposure time. I've figured it out since then but there haven't been any more storms and probably won't be until the spring. :(

Very nice. Most of the suggestions I'd have for changing the picture would require for knowledge of WHERE the bolt would strike, which is well silly. Good capture overall. I think its a bit distracting on the side with the tree line on the right--but seriously that's not even a really valid criticism for something like this.
